Created a cost effective treatment programme, taking treatment to the doorsteps of villagers through the camp approach.
Initiated Outreach Programme for IV drug users with the view to reduce the spread of HIV
Started a vocational rehabilitation programme to make the recovering patients employable and initiated income generation units to support them.
Understood the importance of
sensitizing students of medicine, nursing, social work, psychology
and providing information about intervention and management
techniques.
Developed several booklets and manuals
for professionals, para professionals, patients and their families.
Initiated target oriented programmes
for industrial population towards
creating alcohol free workplaces
for school children towards making
sensible decisions
in villages towards prevention of HIV
and violence
The centre has developed the Minimum
Standards of Care which is followed by 400 NGOs in the country. The
document has been accepted by the Ministry of Social Justice and
Empowerment, Government of India.
